Level 3 Mission Trip Blog - Day 5 |
From Jackson Hole, Wyoming We've been having great times in the Word in different locations in Jackson each morning. Before lunch, we prepare for Bible clubs and then go to two locations to put them on: one in Jackson Hole and one in Driggs, Idaho. The students have been doing a great job with fulfilling responsibilities and having a positive attitude. In the evenings we've been having cookouts for the community. Our students help make cotton candy and popcorn, hand out hot dogs, and paint faces. Ken and Lori, the missionaries we're working alongside of, have made some great contacts to follow up with when we leave. Our days are long, but productive. We miss Scott being here, but appreciate him being part of the team through direction and encouragement from a distance. Please pray for strength for us as each day is full of ministry. Also, pray for more contacts for the church to follow up with. Our evangelistic campaign (outreach) is being held at the church Thursday and Friday evenings. Pray that many visitors come and hear the good news of the Gospel and that the members of the church will make it a priority to be there to invest in the lives of those within the community who don't know Christ. Also, pray for strength and direction for Ken and Lori in their ministry. Thank you all for praying. It's the strongest way to fight the battle between what God wants to accomplish and what Satan wants to destroy. We are grateful for you! Jen Srail |

Level 3 Mission - 2nd Blog |
|
The team has put together some video blogs, to view them, click here. Last night we had a great time traveling to different parts of the city and praying for the outreaches we'll be doing. Ryan found cool places and challenged all the students at each place related to where we were (cemetery, middle of the city, river). The girls especially started getting pretty tired. I guess we were in bed before midnight. We got started late, but had a good time in the Word and discussing it together. At the soccer field, it took some time for our kids to get courage to talk to people (which I expected), but they did hand out popcorn and water. I guess we were there 2 hours. The face/body painting was a hit. We passed out flyers in the two locations after lunch and had a brief talk with Ken, learning about the Hispanic culture here. We just finished getting ready for the service tonight and are about to have dinner. It doesn't feel like we've gotten "into it" too much yet since we haven't met anyone from the church that we'll be working with. I really hope there will be teens or even adults that will help us this week. We are anticipating huge things this week. Please continue to pray for us. |

Level 3 Mission - 1st Blog |
|
Travel went well. We had a few first timers on the airplane. Linda taught everyone a drama/mime for the Sunday night service next week. We sorted through the bags and folded the cross tracts. The students will use the cross tracts, Bible club fliers, and popcorn at the soccer fields tomorrow. Tonight we'll drive around the city after dinner and pray at certain locations where we'll be. We'll stop somewhere and have a "challenge" and pray for each other. |

For this last post, I wanted you to hear from some of our students and leaders. Here is what they had to say about their week at Faith Factor. Nigel Doerfler- Even though I was not privileged enough to help lead a child to Christ, I do feel as though God used me in a few ways. To start, He helped me plant a seed in the heart of a little girl in my small group after the lessons this week, and I tried my hardest to make sure that I helped and served God to the best of my ability. Abbey Hilbert- Unfortunately, I got sick before I came to Faith Factor, so that was a real bummer. I was a teacher for the backyard Bible clubs and on the second day, I lost my voice so I was not able to teach, talk, or anything. I was so excited to be teaching these amazing kids, so I just prayed to God that He would give me my voice back so I could have the opportunity to do so. The next day, my voice was back and I was able to lead a little girl, Savannah, to Christ. |
